WHAT IS SKK?

In Indonesia, the 'SKK' certification system, which stands for 'Sertifikasi Kompetensi Kerja' or 'Work Competency Certification' in English, plays a pivotal role in evaluating and acknowledging the competencies of professionals operating within the construction sector. This certification framework is designed to guarantee that individuals possess the essential knowledge, skills, and practical experience required for specific roles and responsibilities in the construction industry.

The SKK certifications are organized into three distinct levels: 'Ahli Muda' (junior expert), 'Ahli Madya' (intermediate expert), and 'Ahli Utama' (senior expert). These levels are determined by a combination of educational qualifications, years of professional experience, and the scope of responsibilities. SKK certifications serve as a standardized and recognized benchmark for assessing the qualifications of professionals within the construction field, allowing them to progress in their careers.

On the other hand, the 'LPJK' or 'Lembaga Pengembangan Jasa Konstruksi' translates to the 'Construction Services Development Agency' and is a vital governmental body responsible for certifying and regulating the construction industry in Indonesia. LPJK plays a critical role in upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and professionalism in the delivery of construction services, ensuring that projects adhere to regulatory requirements and meet the expectations of clients and stakeholders.

Alternatively, Architects will be registered with 'IAI' or 'Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia' which translates to the 'Indonesian Architects Association'.
