Kayu Rough Sawn dipotong sesuai ukuran tetapi dibiarkan dengan permukaan kasar dan bertekstur, sering digunakan untuk pekerjaan struktural di mana penampilan tidak terlalu penting. 
Kayu Dressed, juga disebut  planed timber, dihaluskan hingga memiliki permukaan yang mulus dengan dimensi yang presisi, cocok untuk aplikasi yang terlihat, seperti furnitur atau penyelesaian interior.

Found in Kalimantan (Borneo), Sumatra, and parts of Sulawesi. It grows in tropical rainforests. Use in flooring, decking, heavy construction, and outdoor applications
