These Roof Membranes are commonly used in roof gutters and as a secondary protective underlay beneath clay roof tiles. Two common types are Premium – APP (Atactic Polypropylene) and Economical – SBS (Styrene Butadiene Styrene) modified bitumen membranes, each offering distinct properties suited to different conditions.
The premium membrane is plastic-based and known for its heat resistance and excellent UV durability, making it ideal for exposed applications such as gutters and valleys of roof structures. Typically red in color, it is reinforced with polyester.
In contrast, the Economical - SBS membrane is rubber-based, offering superior flexibility and crack resistance, especially in cooler environments or structures subject to movement. It is usually black in appearance.
Together, these membranes offer durable and versatile waterproofing solutions, with the choice depending on climate, exposure, and structural movement.
