These akali resistant chopped fiberglass consists of short glass filaments used to improve the early-age performance and surface quality of cementitious mixes. These fibers are primarily intended to control plastic shrinkage cracking, reduce bleeding, and improve mix cohesion rather than provide structural reinforcement.
Due to their short length, chopped fiberglass fibers work at a micro level within the mix, helping stabilize thin sections and reduce hairline cracking during curing. They are commonly used in mortars, renders, screeds, plasters, repair mixes, and thin concrete toppings where finish quality and crack reduction are critical.
Chopped fiberglass does not replace steel reinforcement or macro fibers and is best suited for non-structural applications.
